COLUMBIA, SC – The Shaw University women's tennis team took on Benedict College in an away match on Tuesday. The Lady Bears were edged by the Tigers with a score of 4-5. The Lady Bears are now 12-3 overall.
Jessica Medina and Ana Ruzir blanked their doubles opponents with a score of 8-0 in the No. 1 match. Gislanie Farias and Marilyne Kamegne fought hard, but fell to their opponents 5-8 in the No. 2.
Shaw would split the singles matches 3-3 with Tigers. Medina, Farias and Kamegne handled their opponents in a quick fashion in the No. 2, 3, and 4 spot. Hailli Cooke was defeated by her opponent in the No. 5 spot.
The Lady Bears will be back in action on April 4, 2015 at 1:00 PM when they travel to West Virginia to play in a CIAA/WVIAC Tennis Round-Up.
