Murfreesboro, NC – The Shaw University Women's tennis team traveled to Murfreesboro, North Carolina to play in the second CIAA tennis round-up held March 21 and 22. The Lady Bears came away 1-1 for the weekend and improved to 8-2 overall and 6-1 in conference play.
Shaw University fell short against Chowan with a final score of 7-2. The Lady Bears lost the doubles matches and started the singles competition down 3-0. Shaw found success in Ana Ruzir and Marilyne Kamegne in the number one and fourth positions.
During the final day of the round-up the Lady Bears triumphed over Virginia State 6-3.
The Lady Bears will play host to Virginia Union on March 24 at 1:00 PM. All home matches are held at Lion's Park, 516 Dennis Ave, Raleigh, NC 27604.
