ETTRICK, Va. - The Shaw University women's tennis team finished their season with a 5-1 loss to Virginia State in the CIAA Tournament Semifinals on the campus of Virginia State.

Shaw, the defending CIAA champions, finish their season with a 16-4 mark.

After a loss at number three doubles, the Shaw number one doubles team of Claudia Silva and Gislaine Farias rebounded with an 8-2 win to tie the contest at one-all.  The Lady Trojans claimed the win at number two doubles to make the score 2-1 heading into singles competition.

Virginia State then swept the lower singles matches (four, five and six) to claim a place in Saturday's finals
