RALEIGH, N.C. – Shaw Univ

ersity's Claudia Silva was named the CIAA Women's Tennis Player of the Week Thursday, for her performances in matches March 31 through April 6.  Shaw head coach Sunday Enitan was named the CIAA's Women's Tennis Coach of the Week.

Silva helped power Shaw to a 5-0 week with wins in all five matches at both number one singles and number one doubles. In singles, in five matches, she dropped a total of only three games. In doubles, with partner Gislaine Farias, she won five matches, dropping only five games. On the season, she is 14-1.

Enitan led the Lady Bears to five straight wins this week, downing Winston-Salem State twice, and claiming single victories against Fayetteville State, Coker and Bluefield State.

The Lady Bears are in action Thursday afternoon at Fayetteville State.  They close out the regular season when they travel to Ettrick, VA, to play Bowie State.
