(Raleigh, NC) - The Shaw University women's volleyball team lost in three sets (13-25, 17-25, 10-25) to Winston-Salem State University Thursday evening. The Lady Bears were led by freshman outside hitter Ladazia Burris who led the Lady Bears hitters in the match with seven kills and three digs.

Sophomore outside hitter Deja Simpson had four kills and eight digs. Middle hitter Briana Wilson recorded three kills and four digs. Sophomore setter Courtnie Cook finished the match with 13 assists while collecting seven digs during the match.

The Lady Bears are now 0-11 in the season and 0-9 in the CIAA.

The Lady Bears travel to Fayetteville State University October 6, the match is set to begin at 6 p.m.
