RALEIGH, N.C. - The Shaw women's tennis team easily defeated Elizabeth City State 5-0 in a CIAA match played at Biltmore Hills Park Wednesday morning.  The Lady Bears did not drop a single game in the five matches that were contested.

With the win, the women conclude the CIAA season undefeated at 16-0 and improve to 22-0 on the season.  Elizabeth City State drops to 3-7 overall, 3-7 in the conference.

All five singles players swept their one-set match 8-0.  Doubles matches were not played. 

Number one singles player Lolia Kienka downed Tiffany Brown.  Number two singles player Jessica Medina defeated Samantha Craig.  Claudia Silva, Vimbai Mawisire and Aline Ferreira also won their matches 8-0.

Friday the Bears and Lady Bears will take on King College at 2:00 p.m.  Shaw will close out the regular season Saturday when they host Charleston Southern at 1:00 p.m.  Matches are played at Biltmore Hills Park at 2615 Fitzgerald Drive in Raleigh.
