Griffin begins his first season at Shaw University at the secondary/pass game coordinator.
Griffin served seven years as a military officer in the U.S. Air Force, with assignments in England, South Korea, and Germany. His service included roles within Air Force Special Operations Command, Pacific Air Forces, and Air Mobility Command.
In 2024, Griffin coached the Wroclaw Panthers in the European League of Football (ELF), working with corners, safeties, and nickels. His secondary featured the league’s Special Teams Player of the Year, and he also assisted with return units that led the ELF in kickoff and punt return touchdowns. As pass game coordinator, he was responsible for game planning, scouting reports, and self-scout analysis.
In 2023, Griffin played professionally in the German Football League (GFL) for the Saarland Hurricanes. In addition to playing professionally, Griffin also served in a coaching capacity for the defensive backs providing analytical expertise and creating pass-game breakdowns for the defensive backs. During this time, he led the team in pass break-ups. He played a great role in establishing community relations and growing the sport of football in Germany.
Griffin started his coaching career under Troy Calhoun at the Air Force Academy as a defensive graduate assistant (2018-2019), where he worked with the defensive backs, special teams, and provided defensive quality control. Griffin’s leadership played integral to lead the football team to a #1 NCAA APR rating and the most service academy APR top 10 finishes. Air Force finished #43 in total defense in the NCAA. Griffin displayed recruiting prowess by landing 70% recruits on official visits, leading the team to an 11-2 finish the following year, finishing #22 in the AP Top 25.
As a player at Air Force (2015–2018), Griffin was a four-year letterwinner, three-year starter, team captain, and All-Colorado selection. He finished his senior year third on the team in tackles (66), first in passes defended (12), and helped lead a defense ranked in the NCAA top 10 in passing yards allowed. He participated in NFL Pro Day, earning a workout with the Atlanta Falcons, and was ranked the No. 127 cornerback in the 2018 NFL Draft class by NFL Draft Scout.
A native of Metro Atlanta, Griffin is a 2013 graduate of Eagles Landing High School, where he was a state champion in football and in the 4x100m relay.
