Eric Reid is in his first season at tight ends coach at Shaw University.

Before coming to Shaw, Reid was the offensive line coach and liaison to the football alumni at Saint Augustine's University from 2021 to 2023. He previously was the head football coach and athletic director at Goldsboro High School starting in 2007.

When Reid took over the Goldsboro High football team, the Cougars were 0-11. In just one year, Reid directed Goldsboro to a 8-3-1 record and the Eastern Plains Conference title -- the first league championship in program history since 1996. The Cougars appeared in the state 2-A regional finals.

His next six teams combined to capture three Carolina 1-A Conference championships, finish league runner-up twice and make a trip to the state 1-AA eastern regional final in 2009.

Reid's seven-year record at Goldsboro was 61-28-1.

A Goldsboro, N.C., native, Reid earned his bachelor's degree in health and physical education from Norfolk State University.
