RALEIGH, N.C. — Shaw University volleyball's Justus Alexander has been named the CIAA Setter of the Week following a productive opening weekend at the Ram Rumble hosted by Shepherd University.

Alexander totaled 76 assists across four matches, averaging 19 assists per match and 5.43 assists per set. She opened the weekend with 19 assists and four service aces against Chestnut Hill before adding 10 assists against host Shepherd. 

The Shaw setter turned in her best performance of the weekend against Goldey-Beacom, dishing out a season-high 29 assists as the Lady Bears recorded 43 kills. Alexander closed the tournament with 18 assists and seven digs against Frostburg State. 

Alexander and the Lady Bears return to action Wednesday, Sept. 2, when Shaw hosts Catawba at 6 p.m. inside historic C.C. Spaulding Gymnasium.
