Edinboro, Pa. – The Shaw University men's tennis team saw its postseason run come to an end with a 4-0 loss to Fairmont State in the opening round of the 2025 NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional Tournament on Friday afternoon at Edinboro Tennis Courts.
The sixth-seeded Bears faced a strong third-seeded Fairmont State squad that set the tone early by taking the doubles point. The Bears put together a strong fight holding leads in two of the doubles matches.
Shaw was unable to recover momentum in singles play, as Fairmont State closed out the match with straight-set victories on courts two, four, and five to clinch the team decision.
The defeat concludes Shaw's 2024-25 campaign with a strong regional showing and continued growth on the national stage earning their third straight at-large bid as an NCAA Independent.
