RALEIGH, NC - The Shaw University men's tennis team will open play in the 2025 NCAA Division II Atlantic Region Tournament on Friday, May 9, facing off against Fairmont State University in a first-round matchup. The contest is scheduled for 2 p.m. in Edinboro, PA.

The Bears, seeded sixth in the Atlantic Region, earned an at-large bid following a 7-5 record overall. Shaw enters the match winners of five out of their last six matches with the lone loss being to Division 1 NC Central. 

Fairmont State, the No. 3 seed, enters the tournament with a 11-6 record and is ranked among the top teams in the Mountain East Conference. The Bears and Falcons were slated to face each other on March 22 but the match was canceled due to inclement weather. 

The winner will advance to face the winner of Edinboro/Bloomsburg Saturday, May 10 at 12 p.m.
