RALEIGH, N.C. – The Shaw University Lady Bears are set to take on the top-seeded Bowie State Bulldogs in the opening round of the 2025 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Softball Championship Thursday, May 1 at 10 AM. The tournament will be held from May 1-3  at the Orangeburg Recreation Park in Orangeburg, South Carolina featuring an 8 team double elimination bracket featuring the top four seeds from each division. 

Shaw enters the tournament as the No. 4 seed from the Southern Division, holding a 4-10 conference record (3-5 South). Bowie State, boasting an undefeated 15-0 CIAA record, secured the No. 1 seed from the Northern Division. In their lone match up this season on March 22 during the CIAA Round-Up in Raleigh, the Lady Bears fell to the Bulldogs 8-0.
