Danville, Va. – The Shaw University men's tennis team put up a strong effort but ultimately fell to Averett University in a competitive matchup at the Averett Tennis Courts. The Bears secured one singles victory but were unable to overcome the host team, resulting in a final loss.

Shaw (1-4) battled hard in the singles competition, with Franco Veda securing a win for the Bears at the third single spot. However, Averett took control in both singles and doubles play, winning the majority of the matchups. The intense contest lasted five hours, with both teams displaying determination and resilience on the court.

Shaw University men's tennis will return to action in their upcoming match March 19 as they face Bluefield State in Charlotte, NC eager to build on their performance and secure a victory.
