Shaw Comes Up Short in DH Versus Millersville.

GAME 1 | Millersville (PA) 7, Shaw 0

RALEIGH, NC --A pitching duo from the visitors held tough as they combined to throw a shutout on Monday as the Millersville (PA) Marauders blanked the Shaw Bears 7-0 in Game 1 of a twin bill played at Worthdale Park.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Shaw managed two chances with runners on third in the shutout, going a total of 0-for-7 with runners in scoring position. The Lady Bears last got a runner on third in the fourth, when sophomore Jordan Booker made it 60 feet away from scoring with one out. The story of the contest would be runners left on base as seven Lady Bears got on base but failed to touch the plate afterwards.

» Shaw pitchers faced 38 Millersville (PA) hitters in the game, allowing seven ground balls and five fly balls while striking out five.
» Freshman Hailey Stanley led the Lady Bears at the plate, going 2-for-3.
» Millersville (PA) was led offensively by freshman J. Langer, who went 4-for-5 with three RBI.
