RALEIGH, NC -  Shaw University is proud to announce that senior forward Zaniyyah Ross-Barnes has been named the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Defensive Player of the Week for her outstanding performance during this past week.

Ross-Barnes totaled 19 defensive rebounds while adding five blocks and three steals in the Shaw's two contests including the Lady Bears big comeback win on Senior Day against Livingstone College.

The senior forward also threw in 14 points while coming one point short of a double-double against Livingstone finishing with nine points.  She is also now three rebounds shy of 400 for her Shaw career.
