RALEIGH, N.C. — The Shaw University men's basketball team continues to earn national recognition, receiving votes in the latest National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division II Men's Basketball Coaches Poll released this week.
Shaw garnered 16 votes in the poll, placing the Bears among a competitive group of programs receiving national consideration outside the Top 25. The recognition reflects Shaw's strong early-season performance and continued growth under head coach and his staff.
Nova Southeastern (Fla.) held the No. 1 spot in the poll with a 6-0 record, followed by Washburn (Kan.) and Daemen (N.Y.). The poll featured programs from across the country, highlighting the depth and competitiveness of Division II men's basketball.
Shaw was listed among "Others receiving votes," alongside several nationally prominent programs, underscoring the Bears' emergence on the national stage and reinforcing their status as one of the CIAA's top contenders this season.
