WILSON, NC --Isaiah Buckley knocked down the game winning 3-pointer with only two seconds left on the clock to lead the Shaw men's basketball team over the Barton Bulldogs 83-82 on the road Wednesday.

The Bears (3-0) had three players score in double figures, led by Buckley, who had 22 points, seven assists and four steals. Darius Abraham added 17 points and Avery Huggins chipped in as well with 17 points.

Shaw took advantage of great ball movement in Wednesday's game, piling up 16 assists on 30 made field goals. Buckley's seven assists paced the Bears.

The Shaw defense was effective at taking away the basketball in Wednesday's game, forcing 18 Barton turnovers while committing nine. Those takeaways turned into 24 points on the offensive end of the floor. Buckley's four steals led the way individually for the Bears.

How It Happened

After falling behind 39-27, Shaw went on a 5-0 run with 2:09 left in the first half, culminating in a three from Abraham, to narrow its deficit to 39-32. Barton answered back and added to its lead, leaving the Bears down 41-32 entering halftime.

Barton kept widening its lead after intermission, constructing a 43-32 advantage before Shaw went on an 8-0 run to shrink the deficit to 43-40 with 17:47 to go in the contest. The Bears kept the rally going and took the lead for good on Buckley's three-pointer with 00:02 left for an 83-82 comeback victory. Shaw took care of business in the paint, recording 26 of its 51 points in the lane.
