DURHAM, North Carolina -- Shaw fell 52-0 to #23/24 Johnson C. Smith at home Saturday afternoon.
The Golden Bulls improved to 6-1 on the year and 4-1 in Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association play, while the Bears fell to 2-5 overall and 2-3 in conference matchups.
Fabian Diggs led all Bears rushers with 35 yards in the contest, picking up 4.4 yards per carry. Christian Rutledge also added 27 yards on the ground, averaging 6.8 yards per carry.
Alexander Marsh's most prolific target in the ballgame was Jeffrey Mcdonald Jr, who caught four passes for 51 yards.
Jr Thompson paced the Shaw defensive effort, recording one interception. Darry Felix added five tackles, 1.0 TFL, and one sack.
Shaw's defense held up fairly well against the run, limiting Johnson C. Smith to 125 yards on the ground.
