RALEIGH, NC - Shaw University Athletics is proud to announce that standout volleyball player, Kalia Morris, has been named the CIAA Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week for her outstanding performance during the past week of competition.

Morris, a junior libero, showcased her defensive prowess in a series of matches as Shaw competed in the UMO Invitational last weekend, leading the team with digs and court coverage. She averaged just over five digs per set and recorded a total of 61 digs over the course of the week's matches, helping her team secure critical victories last Friday.  

Morris and the Lady Bears return to the court Thursday, September 19 as they host Fayetteville State University in their CIAA opener.
