RALEIGH, NC --The Shaw volleyball team needed just three sets (25-21, 25-18, 25-19) to take down the Bowie State Bulldogs Tuesday at home at C.C. Spalding Gymnasium in the CIAA quarterfinals.
The victory improved the Lady Bears overall record to 27-4 on the season.
Amari Earl finished with 11 kills on the day to lead the Lady Bears attack while finishing with a hitting percentage of .25. got 10 digs from Maelie Chupin to lead them defensively.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Lady Bears grabbed control on the first point and held the lead the rest of the way to secure the first set 25-21. Shaw led by 12 points at 18-6 before finishing off the set. Shaw also supplemented their offense with seven aces in the opening set.
SET 2 | Shaw continued to roll after a set-one win by earning a 25-18 victory in the second set. The Lady Bears grabbed the set powered by a solid showing on the attacking end. Shaw registered a .325 attack percentage with 16 kills in the set win. The Lady Bears ended on a strong note, stretching their lead to its largest point in the set to finish out the stanza.
SET 3 | Shaw then ended the match with a victory in set number three. The Lady Bears took the set 25-19 helped by a strong performance on the attacking end. Shaw put together a .438 attack percentage with 16 kills in the set win. The Lady Bears ended on a strong note, stretching their lead to its largest point in the set to finish out the stanza.
