COLUMBIA, South Carolina -- Shaw fell 52-0 to Benedict on the road Saturday night.
The Tigers improved to 1-0 on the season while the Bears dropped to 0-1.
Sidney Gibbs paced the Bears rushing attack by accumulating 75 yards over the course of the game, averaging 5 yards per carry. Christian Peters also added 15 yards on the ground.
Donte Lee Jr. hauled in two catches for 72 yards.
Saevion Gibbs paced the Shaw defensive effort, totaling 1.0 TFL and one sack.Â
The Bears return to action September 9 as they host Virginia Union University in their home opener. Kickoff is slated for 1 PM inside of Durham County Memorial Stadium.
