Shaw Plays Tough In Tennis Loss To Division I NCCU

RALEIGH, N.C. (April 5) - The Shaw University women's tennis team displayed strong doubles play in a 5-2 loss to Division I N.C. Central at Worthdale Park on Wednesday.

Shaw is 7-3 overall with two losses coming against NCAA Division I schools. N.C. Central upped its record to 9-8 overall.

The Lady Bears scored one point by winning two of three doubles matches. The No. 2 team of Sevval Ozseker and Anja Antonijevic and the No. 3 team of Chetna Kumari and Jessa Michieli both won by 6-4 scores.

Shaw scored the other point in singles play. Prerana Koirala was victorious in No. 2 singles 7-5, 5-2.

The next match for the Lady Bears is Saturday, April 8, against Averett in Danville, Va. The match starts at 1 p.m.
