Three Lady Bears Earn All-CIAA Honors

BALTIMORE – The CIAA honored three women's players from Shaw University on Monday for their play on the basketball court this season.

The frontcourt tandem of Brittiney Seymour and Tanayja London landed on the All-CIAA Team and guard Tanashia Hairston made the All-CIAA Rookie Team.  Each player was recognized at the CIAA Tournament Tip-Off Banquet.

Seymour was a force in the paint for the Lady Bears, averaging 11.2 points and 8.1 rebounds. She did most of her damage on the offensive end where she grabbed a conference-best 3.2 boards per game. Overall, her rebounding average was the third-best in the CIAA during the regular season.

The versatile London was effective inside and outside, averaging 11.2 points and 6.8 rebounds. Her consistency was her strength as she ranked among the top three on the team in scoring, rebounding, assists, blocks and steals.

Hairston provided offensive firepower as a freshman with the Lady Bears. The Shaw guard averaged nearly six points in only 14 minutes of action per game. She canned 43 percent of her three-point attempts which led the team. Her 18 threes were second highest on the team.
