ERIE, PA --The Shaw University volleyball team's historic season came to an end as the Lady Bears fell to the Clarion Golden Eagles in three sets (22-25, 21-25, 18-25) Friday at Highmark Events Center.
The loss drops Shaw's final record to 31-6 on the season which is the most wins in program history..
Lillian Carlson finished with 14 kills on the day to lead the Lady Bears attack while finishing with a hitting percentage of .308. got nine digs from Maelie Chupin to lead them defensively.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Lady Bears found themselves in an early deficit, dropping the first set 25-22. Shaw trailed by as many as six points as Clarion never surrendered the lead in a set that was knotted up just once before the Golden Eagles took control.
SET 2 | Shaw then lost set two 25-21 to fall behind in the match two sets to none. The Lady Bears couldn't hang on in a back-and-forth set, losing in a stanza that featured four lead changes and was tied eight times. Neither team led by more than four points along the way.
SET 3 | Shaw couldn't prolong the match and lost in set number three. The Lady Bears dropped a tough set 25-18. Shaw trailed by as many as seven points as Clarion grabbed the advantage for good at 8-7 in a set that was tied up four times before the Golden Eagles took over the lead.
