RALEIGH, NC - The Shaw University women's volleyball team, fresh off a CIAA title run, will take on Wheeling, W.Va., in the Atlantic Region quarterfinal round of the NCAA Division II Tournament on Thursday, Nov. 30, in Erie, Pa. The match will start at 2:30 p.m. inside the Highmark Events Center.

The contest will be the second of four that day on the Gannon University campus. The Lady Bears (30-5 overall) enter the match as the No. 7 seed in the Atlantic Region while Wheeling (25-7 overall) is the No. 2 seed.

Both teams earned automatic bids after winning their respective conference tournaments. The Lady Bears defeated Elizabeth City State 3-1 on Sunday in Bowie, Md. to claim the CIAA Crown, their first since 2018 and fifth overall. Shaw, led by Head Coach Jonathan Paulk, is the first team in 12 years to go unbeaten in the CIAA in the regular season and postseason. The 30 wins are a school record.

Wheeling defeated West Virginia State 3-1 to win its 16th straight MEC Championship. The Cardinals reached the Atlantic Region semifinals last year. Prior to that, they advanced to the regional final 22 consecutive years.
