DURHAM, NC - The Shaw women's soccer team scored three goals in the second half to pull away from Virginia State 4-0 at Durham County Stadium on Monday.
Four different players scored for the Lady Bears, who improved to 12-4-1. This is their best overall record since 2018 when the Lady Bears finished 12-4.
Giovanna Coghetto started the scoring on an assist from
Daricia Arrindell for a 1-0 halftime lead.

Nyasia Hawkins and
Andrea Fernandez combined for a save on four Trojan shot attempts. The Lady Bears attempted 17 shots and finished with more corner kicks (8-1). The foul count was Shaw two and VSU one.
The Lady Bears swept the two-game season series against the Trojans (2-11-2 overall). Shaw won first contest 6-1 on Sept. 16 in Ettrick, Va.
