Box Score Raleigh, NC - The Shaw University volleyball team made quick work of visiting Bowie State University to stay unbeaten in CIAA action Monday evening inside historic C. C. Spaulding Gymnasium.
It took just three sets with the Lady Bears winning by the scores of 25-6, 25-9, and 25-22 in the third and final set.
With the win, Shaw picks up their eighth straight win and improves to 10-6 overall and 6-0 in CIAA action while BSU drops to 6-6 and 3-4 in conference play.
The Bulldogs were limited to just -.068 hitting percentage while the Lady Bears finished the match with an impressive .304 hitting percentage. Shaw doubled BSU in total kills 36-13 and service aces 16-2.
On offense, Shaw was led by Noelani Beard with 16 kills followed by Kamille Patrick with 7 kills and also 9 digs. Kaylin Evens led the Lady Bears in digs with 10 while Ilani Myers chipped in six digs along with four kills. Breelyn Clark was masterful again at the setter position collecting 34 assists on the evening.
Shaw returns to action this weekend as they host the second CIAA Round-Up at Spaulding Gymnasium taking on Fayetteville State Saturday morning. First serve is scheduled for 9 AM.
