Box Score Lincoln, PA – The Shaw University volleyball team started the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) season on a positive note with an impressive 3-0 conference victory over the host Lincoln (PA) Lions Thursday night inside Manuel Rivero Gymnasium.
Shaw won by the scores of 25-20, 25-19, and a dominating 25-12 in the final set. The first set featured six ties and two lead changes while the Lady Bears settled in during the final two sets to lead the entire way during both.
With the win, Shaw improves to 2-4 overall and 1-0 in the CIAA while the Lions drop to 0-6 and 0-1 in CIAA action.
Paige Worden led the Lady Bears in kills with 10 followed by Mallory Brown and Kamille Patrick with seven and six respectively. Setter Breelyn Clark finished the contest with 25 assists while Worden also led Shaw in digs with seven. Brown and Clark added six digs each. Haley Loper topped the Lions with 8 kills.
The Lady Bears were able to hold Lincoln to a .000 hitting percentage on the match while also being credited with 12 service aces.
