Raleigh, NC – The Shaw University volleyball team made strides to securing a division title with a 3-0 sweep over the visiting Lincoln University (PA) Lions Monday evening on Senior Night inside C.C. Spaulding Gymnasium in a Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) match.

With the win, Shaw closes out the regular season 16-5 overall and 15-1 in CIAA action while Lincoln falls to 1-22 overall and 1-14 in conference play.

Shaw completed dominated the first set limiting Lincoln to just six points the entire set securing a 25-6 win to go ahead 1-0. The Lions battled tough during the second set while even holding a late two-point lead before a late Shaw run pushed the Lady Bears ahead 2-0 with a 25-19 win. The third and final set mirrored the second set with Lincoln staying close until another late push from Shaw proved to be too much as the Lady Bears completed the sweep a 25-17 third set win.

Mallory Brown topped the Lady Bears with 13 kills followed by senior Paige Worden with 10. Worden also paced Shaw with 10 digs on the night followed by fellow senior Chandler Westin with six. Setter Breelyn Clark added 33 assists.

Shaw will now await the CIAA Tournament seedings for their opponent in the quarterfinals on November 16 that will be played in Spaulding Gymnasium. First serve is slated for 6 p.m.
