SAU went point-for-point with the Lady Bears in the opening set but Shaw created separation when both Moten and senior Jazmine Johnson-McCoy (Seattle, WA) recorded back-to-back blocks to give Shaw the 12-8 lead. From there, the Lady Bears increased its lead to double digits capped off by a kill from Moten before closing out the set with a 4-1 run and 25-12 set victory.

The Lady Bears took a 12-5 lead in the second stanza that featured kills by three different Shaw players. The Lady Falcons closed the gap to eight points three times but a serving error from SAU led to Shaw outscoring the Lady Falcons 6-2 en route to the 25-14 set win.

With a 2-0 advantage, Shaw wasted no time in the third set building a 12-4 lead early on. Another kill from Moten, followed by an attack from junior Amari Fletcher (Phoenix, AZ) led to a 20-9 score in favor of Shaw as the Lady Bears outshined the Lady Falcons in the third set win with a block assist from both Fletcher and junior Destiny Leake (Charlotte, NC) for the 25-11 win and 3-0 sweep.

Shaw definitely had the hot hand against its rival, hitting a season-best .493 from the floor including a .577 hitting percentage in the first set, .435 in the second and .462 in the third. The Lady Bears outscored the Lady Falcons 45-14 in kills.
