BEARS TENNIS FALLS AT NC A&T STATE IN SEASON OPENER, 5-2

GREENSBORO, N.C.  – The Shaw University men's tennis team lost their opening match of the season on Monday afternoon to the North Carolina A&T State Aggies by the final score of 5-2.

 

The Bears had a strong showing in their doubles matches, taking two of three from the Aggies. The top pairing of Bach Tran (Leipzig, Germany) and Daniel Ac (Kikinda, Serbia) were victorious with the score of 6-3. Second pairing Diego Choque (Tarija, Bolivia) and Javier Saez (Concepcion, Chile) earned the Bears another point with a 7-6 win.

 

In the singles matches, Choque won his first singles match on the season, winning 3-6, 6-4, and 6-4 to be the lone player for Shaw to win in singles play for the day.

 

Shaw will look to get their first win at Barton on Mar. 4 at 1 p.m.
