Raleigh, NC - In a home Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) battle, the Lady Bears struggled to get much going against the Golden Bulls, dropping three straight sets to Johnson C. Smith. By the end of regulation Shaw would fall 25-20, 25-21, and 25-17.

Deja Simpson (Sophomore/Outside Hitter) and Ladazia Burris (Freshman/Outside Hitter) put forth strong efforts on the Shaw end, combining for 19 kills, 2 assists, 4 service aces and 16 digs. The Bears had issues defensively, but Tiffany Brooks (Freshman/ Libero) was able to contribute seven digs.

Courtnie Cook (Sophomore/ Setter) recorded 16 assists as well as five digs for the evening.

The Bears will return back to the court, Thursday October 23rd at 7pm to host Morris College in the last home match of the season.
