TIGERVILLE, S.C. - The Shaw women's volleyball opened their 2012 campaign with a 1-3 record at the North Greenville Tournament Friday and Saturday.

They opened play against a tough Benedict squad, dropping all three sets by scores of 25-14, 25-15 and 25-13. 

Against Brevard, they suffered another straight-set loss, with scores of 25-16, 25-10 and 25-19.

They then faced host North Greenville, losing the first two sets 25-11 and 25-10 before rebounding for a strong 25-18 performance in the loss.

They closed out the tournament with a win, defeating Voorhees 25-16, 25-8 and 25-18.

The Lady Bears travel to Sumter, SC, on Thursday to take on Morris.  Game time is 6:00 p.m.  They open their home season on Saturday, September 8 when they host Voorhees in a 3:00 p.m. contest.
