SALISBURY, N.C. - The Shaw volleyball team lost a close four-set match to host Livingstone 3-1 in a match held Thursday night.

All four sets were closely fought.  Shaw dropped the first set 25-23, but rebounded to win the second 25-21.

The third set was the most lopsided as the Lady Blue Bears took the third 25-17.

The two teams battled past the 25-point mark in the third, but the Lady Bears finally gave way, losing 26-24.

Crystal Gordon had 14 kills to lead the Lady Bears, while Shaye Walton had 12.  Walton also had two blocks and two service aces in the game.  Quianna Myers also had a pair of aces.  Michelle Oliver had 15 digs to pace the Bears while Courtnee Kelly and Arielle Fairley had 14 apiece.  Kelly led the Lady Bears in assists with 38.

Shaw returns to action Monday when they travel to Charlotte to take on Johnson C. Smith.  Game time is 6:00 p.m.
