[SALISBURY, NC] - The Shaw volleyball team held the match close throughout the evening, but lost to Livingstone 3-1. 

After dropping the first set 25-16, the Lady Bears fought back, building a lead, then watching it vanish before narrowly defeating the Blue Bears 26-24 in the second set. 

The Blue Bears came back to decisively take the third set 25-20 and fourth 25-16.

Crystal Gordon led the Lady Bears with 16 kills, while Shaye Walton had 15.  Cortnee Kelly had 33 assists.  Jeneva Carner had 16 digs to lead the Shaw squad.

The Lady Bears return home Thursday afternoon when they host Johnson C. Smith in a 6:00 match.
