The Shaw volleyball team lost two tough matches as they hosted a tri-match Saturday.  They dropped matches to both Fayetteville State and Wingate by identical 3-0 margins.

Against the Lady Broncos, the Bears lost 25-9, 25-16 and 25-16.

  Crystal Gordon led the Lady Bears with ten kills and two service aces.  Cortnee Kelly had nine assists and Michelle Oliver eight digs to lead Shaw.

Against undefeated Wingate, the Bears dropped the three games 25-9, 25-8 and 25-6. 

The Lady Bears could not get on solid footing at any point during the match.  Gordon managed only two kills in the three games and Cortnee Kelly had the only service ace and four assists to lead the Lady Bears.  Shaye Walton and Jeneva Carner had four digs apiece to pace the squad.

With the losses, the Lady Bears drop to 3-17 overall, 2-8 in the CIAA. 

Next Saturday the Bears travel to Glenville State for a tri-match.
