Box Score (CHARLOTTE, N.C.)- Shaw faltered in three sets (23-25, 19-25, and 19-25) tonight in Charlotte as the team struggled to take control of net play.
JCSU out blocked the Lady Bears 6-1 at the net that resulted in momentum shifts and point streaks in favor of the Lady Golden Bulls.
The Lady Bears struggled to find an offensive rhythm as the team only had 21 kills and 16 assists on the night. The team's kill leader, Sharetta Riggins, only had eight kills in the match, while Ashley Johnson was held to 11 assists.
Unlike the last time these two teams met on the court, the Lady Golden Bulls shut the door on any hope Shaw had to win a game. When the two teams met in mid-September, the match boiled down a fifth game where JCSU outlasted a much determined Lady Bear team in their home opener.
The Lady Bears look to rebound from this tough loss next week as they face Livingstone at home. They take on the Lady Blue Bears October 20 at 6 p.m.
