Yazmyn Brown enters her first year as Coordinator of Compliance at Shaw University in June 2026.
In her role, Brown is responsible for assisting with the administration and oversight of NCAA, CIAA, and institutional compliance operations. She works closely with student-athletes, coaches, and campus partners to help ensure adherence to conference and NCAA regulations while supporting the academic and athletic success of Shaw University's student-athletes.
A former collegiate softball student-athlete, Brown competed for three seasons at Trinity Baptist College (now Trinity College of Florida) in Jacksonville, Florida. During her playing career, she earned All-Academic Team honors and developed a passion for supporting student-athletes both on and off the field.
Brown earned a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies from Trinity Baptist College before continuing her education at Florida State University, where she received a Master of Science in Sport Management.
Her academic and athletic experiences helped shape her commitment to student-athlete development, compliance education, and fostering a positive collegiate athletics environment.
Outside of her professional responsibilities, Brown enjoys spending time with family and friends, attending sporting events, and following her favorite teams. A passionate Jacksonville Jaguars fan, she can often be found cheering on the Jaguars during football season. She also enjoys fishing and taking advantage of opportunities to spend time outdoors.
