Antoine Lynch

Antoine Lynch enters his fifth year as the Director of Athletic Communications for Shaw University Athletics.

Lynch has been responsible for the promotion and media coverage for all of Shaw's 13 varsity sports including helping brand it's new developmental men's basketball team formed in 2021. During his first four seasons, he has helped promote four CIAA women's tennis championships, the Shaw University volleyball team's back to back championships along with their USCAA National Championship, women's soccer winning both Independent and repeat USCAA National Championships along with three other Bears sports runner-up finishes.

Lynch is no stranger to the department as he previously served as a Athletic Communication Assistant behind previous SID's Jolisa Williams and Sherri Fillingham. During Lynch's first two seasons, he has been responsible for graphic updates and digital content on all Bears social media accounts while adding post game interviews and weekly updates within the Shaw Bears Sports Network on it's newly launched YouTube channel. Lynch also led the Shaw University Athletic department initial design and launch of it's brand new website with SIDEARM Sports in the fall of 2022. 

In 2023, he was awarded the prestigious John Holley CIAA SID of the Year Award in just his second year in the position. Also during the 2022-2023 year, Lynch was among a select group of recipients awarded grants to attend the 2023 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Convention. He later followed that honor by earning the 2024 D2SIDA USCUnite Attendee grant. 

Lynch has gained experience outside of Shaw Athletics serving on the staff of multiple NCAA men's and women's basketball tournaments along with the ACC softball and baseball tournaments, NCAA Division II World Series and the Carolina Mudcats. He also serves on the media staff for the world renown John Wall Holiday Invitational. 

He is a member of College Sports Communicators (formerly known as CoSIDA) and also votes in the D2SIDA Men's Basketball Regional Rankings. He also currently serves as the vice president of the CIAA-SIDA organization while serving on the women's tennis and football championship committees. 

A Bear at heart, Lynch attended Shaw University majoring in Recreation Management. While attending Shaw, Lynch was a member of the Platinum Sound Marching Band while serving as a section leader of the drum line during his final season. Originally from Elizabethtown, NC, he attended East Bladen High School.

Lynch his wife Tanaya and their son Adonis reside in Wake County, NC.Â
