RALEIGH, N.C. (April 12) - Shaw concluded its men's tennis season by defeating Johnson C. Smith 4-1 Wednesday on Senior Day at Worthdale Park.
The Bears (4-5 overall) got singles wins from
Tom Letecheur at No. 1 (6-4, 6-4),
Aakarshit Mahajan at No. 3 (6-1, 6-1) and
Eduardo Valenca at No. 4 (6-1, 6-0). Shaw swept doubles for the other point. The No. 1 team of Letecheur and
Paul Charvoz won 7-6, the No. 2 team of
Augustin Gastaldi and Valenca won 6-3 and the No. 3 team of Mahajan and
Ilya Skobelev won 6-0.
Before the match, Letecheur, Mahajan and Skobelev were honored on Senior Day.
Shaw was 2-0 versus JCSU this season. Last month, the Bears won 4-0 in Charlotte, N.C.
