BEARS PICK UP THIRD-STRAIGHT WITH 6-1 VICTORY OVER VIRGINIA STATE

 

RALEIGH, N.C. – The Shaw University men's tennis team picked up its third straight win after defeating Virginia State University, 6-1 Sunday afternoon at Lions Park.

 

The victory marked improves the Bears to 3-4 on the year while VSU drops to 1-2 overall.

 

Shaw took two of the three doubles to take a one-point lead after doubles competition. Although VSU won the No. 1 singles, the Bears would grab five-straight singles led by senior Daniel Ac (Kikinda, Serbia) who defeated his opponent 6-0, 6-2 at the No. 4 singles.

 

Shaw will return to action Tuesday, Mar. 26 against UC Riverside at Lions Park. First serve is slated for 9:30 a.m.
