MEN'S TENNIS SUFFERS 5-4 LOSS AT CATAWBA

SALISBURY, N.C. Shaw University men's tennis (3-9) suffered a 5-4 loss to Catawba College (7-10) on Thursday afternoon to conclude their road finale.

 

Despite wins from Oscar Del Granado (Santa Cruz, Bolivia) at No. 1 singles, 6-2, 6-0 and Daniel Ac (Kikinda, Serbia) at No. 3 singles with a 7-5, 6-2 decision, the Bears failed to knock off the Indians.

 

Other wins for Shaw were logged by Junior Bablola-Davis (London) 6-0, 6-2 at No. 5 singles and at the No. 1 doubles with Del Granado and partner Ngonidzashe Makamba (Mabelreign Harare, Zimbabwe) with an 8-2 win.

 

Shaw will look to close out the regular season with a home matches against Charleston (WV) on Saturday, Apr. 14 at Worthdale Park. First serve will begin at 1 p.m.
