WILSON, NC – The Shaw University men's tennis team fell 7-2 at Barton College on Sunday afternoon for a non-conference match. The loss slips the Bears to 0-3 on the season while the Bulldogs improve to 7-3 on the year. Shaw had previously dropped a 7-2 decision at North Carolina Wesleyan on Saturday.
The Bears saw a 3-0 deficit after being swept in doubles to start the match. Shaw's two points came from victories at the No. 1 singles by Bach Tran (Leipzig, Germany), 1-6, 7-5, 10-6 and Guido Margiotta (Coronel, Suarez) at the No. 3 singles, 5-7, 6-4, 10-5.
Shaw will return to action on Mar. 7 at Johnson C. Smith scheduled for a first slated 2 p.m.
